APPLICATION GUIDE

Kendon Thiram WP is a Group M3 wettable powder fungicide for the control of fungal diseases of turf, flowers, fruit, ornamentals, seeds, vegetables, and vines. Refer to the Application Guide tables below for registered situations, diseases, states, rates, and critical comments.

  • Mixing: Premix the required amount of product with water before adding to the spray tank. Keep agitating while spraying.
  • Withholding period: DO NOT apply to fruit and vegetables later than 7 days before harvest.
  • Turf restraint: DO NOT feed grass clippings from treated areas to poultry or animals.

What is Kendon Thiram WP and what is it used for?

Kendon Thiram WP is a wettable powder fungicide containing 800g/kg thiram as the active constituent. It is registered for the control of fungal diseases of turf, flowers, fruit, ornamentals, seeds, vegetables, and vines across a range of situations including bowling greens, golf greens, lawns, pome fruit, stone fruit, grape vines, ornamentals, vegetables, and seeds.
Kendon Thiram WP is a Group M3 multi-site contact fungicide. It works by protecting plant surfaces from fungal infection. Because it acts on contact, thorough coverage of plant surfaces is important for effective disease control.
Kendon Thiram WP controls a broad range of fungal diseases depending on the situation and state registration. Controlled diseases include:
  • Black Spot (pome fruit and grape vines)
  • Brown Rot (stone fruit)
  • Freckle (stone fruit)
  • Brown Patch, Dollar Spot, Fusarium Patch, and Damping Off (turf)
  • Anthracnose (lettuce)
  • Leaf Spot (ornamentals)
  • Septoria Spot (carnations)
  • Septoria Leaf Spot (celery)

Application method and rate vary by situation. Refer to the Application Guide above for full rates, timings, and critical comments for each registered situation. As a general guide:
  • Foliar spray (most situations): 150g–200g per 100L of water
  • Soil drench (vegetables): 150g per 100L of water
  • Turf — Bowling Greens: 2kg in 900L–1800L of water per green
  • Turf — Golf Greens and Lawns: 150g in 20L–25L of water per 100m²
  • Seed treatment: 5g per kg of seed as a slurry in a convenient volume of water

  • DO NOT contaminate streams, rivers, or waterways with the chemical or used containers.
  • DO NOT use for any purpose or in any manner contrary to the label unless authorised under appropriate legislation.

When opening the container, mixing, loading, and preparing Kendon Thiram WP, wear:
  • Cotton overalls buttoned to the neck and wrist
  • A washable hat
  • Elbow-length chemical resistant gloves
  • Goggles
  • A half face piece respirator
If product contacts the eyes, wash them out immediately with water. Wash hands after use. After each day's use, wash gloves and contaminated clothing.
Kendon Thiram WP will irritate the eyes and repeated exposure may cause allergic disorders. Avoid contact with eyes and skin. The product is harmful if swallowed or inhaled, causes skin irritation and serious eye irritation, may cause respiratory irritation, and may cause an allergic skin reaction. It may cause cancer by inhalation and may cause damage to the liver through prolonged or repeated oral exposure.

Kendon Thiram WP is very toxic to aquatic life, with acute and chronic effects. DO NOT contaminate streams, rivers, or waterways with the chemical or used containers.
Store Kendon Thiram WP in the closed, original container in a dry, cool, well-ventilated area out of direct sunlight. Do not dispose of undiluted chemicals on site.

Break, crush, or puncture empty packaging and deliver to an approved waste management facility. If no approved facility is available, bury empty packaging 500mm below the surface in a disposal pit specifically marked and set up for this purpose, clear of waterways, desirable vegetation, and tree roots, in compliance with relevant local, state, or territory government regulations. Do not burn empty containers or product.
