What is Kanolacide Spray Adjuvant used for?

Kanolacide is for use as an adjuvant to improve spray droplet deposition, wetting and spreading and reduce evaporation. It provides these benefits for spray applications: it reduces evaporation of spray droplets whilst in flight and from spray deposits, it improves wetting, sticking and spreading of spray deposits, and it is biodegradable and based on natural oils.
The active constituent is 865g/L CANOLA OIL. Kanolacide is an emulsifiable vegetable oil product.
Kanolacide is suitable for use with herbicides, insecticides and fungicides. It is compatible with most herbicides, insecticides and fungicides. Always check the label of the pesticide for any adjuvant or compatibility restrictions before use. Any specific usage or restrictions on the pesticide's label have precedence over directions for use referred to on the Kanolacide label.
Use Kanolacide as a spray adjuvant at the rate for your application method, as listed in the Application Guide above. The label gives rates for Broadacre and Boom Spray, Hand Gun, CDA or ULV, Tree Crops (high volume), Vegetables and Knapsack. Always download and read the current product label before use. This product is not to be used for any purpose or in any manner contrary to the label unless authorised under appropriate legislation.

The application rates are:

  • Broadacre and Boom Spray: 200mL-500mL/100L
  • Hand Gun: 100mL-200mL/100L
  • CDA or ULV: 1L-2L/Ha
  • Tree Crops (high volume): 100mL-200mL/100L
  • Vegetables: 150mL-200mL/100L
  • Knapsack: 20mL-30mL/10L

The label states to use the lower rate when using low application rate products.

Kanolacide mixes quickly and easily with water. Add it directly to the spray tank after the addition of the pesticide. Do not premix it with any other product prior to adding it into the spray tank. Maintain good agitation while spraying.
Kanolacide is non-phytotoxic at recommended rates. Refer to the directions on the pesticide product label. Use caution when applying Kanolacide with agricultural chemical products on sensitive crops during periods when plants are subject to drought stress, high temperatures or high humidity. If in doubt about the appropriateness of using Kanolacide, test by application to a small area before using it on a full-scale basis.
The label states that a withholding period is not required when Kanolacide is used as directed.
Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Wear overalls, rubber gloves, goggles or disposable face shield. After each day's use, wash contaminated clothing, gloves and face shield with soap and water. When using together with other chemicals, consult their safety directions. If poisoning occurs, contact a doctor or Poisons Information Centre (Phone Australia 13 11 26).
Keep out of the reach of children. Store in the closed original container, in a well ventilated area out of direct sunlight. Triple rinse containers before disposal and add rinsings to the spray tank. Do not dispose of undiluted chemicals on site. If recycling, replace cap and return clean containers to recycler or designated collection point. If not recycling, break, crush or puncture and deliver empty packaging to an approved waste management facility. If an approved waste management facility is not available, bury the empty packaging 500mm below the surface in a disposal pit specifically marked and set up for this purpose, clear of waterways, desirable vegetation and tree roots, in compliance with the relevant Local, State or Territory government regulations. If returning containers for refill, do not rinse. Replace the cap and return to a designated collection point. Do not burn empty containers or product. Do not contaminate streams, rivers or waterways with the chemical or used containers.
