What is Potato ‘No Sprout’ VAPOUR?

Potato ‘No Sprout’ VAPOUR is a sprout inhibitor for vapour phase treatment of stored potatoes to prevent sprouting, as specified in the Directions for Use table.
Potato ‘No Sprout’ VAPOUR contains 500g/L chlorpropham as the active constituent and 465g/L methylated spirits as the solvent.
It is used for vapour phase treatment of stored potatoes to prevent sprouting during storage, according to the Directions for Use table.
Apply Potato ‘No Sprout’ VAPOUR undiluted through conventional fogging equipment into the sealed storage shed, following the Directions for Use and Application Guide above.
For stored potatoes, use up to 6L per 100 tonnes of potatoes. The application rate will depend upon the variety of potatoes, storage conditions and the desired length of storage.
Re‑treatment may be necessary. It is recommended to monitor chlorpropham levels and, if residue levels fall below the critical level of 25ppm, topping up may be required. Treatment must be managed so that potatoes removed from storage and sent for processing contain less than 30mg/kg chlorpropham.
Do not treat wet, damaged or rotting potatoes. Do not treat after sprouting has developed. Do not use on or near seed potatoes.
Do not allow entry into treated areas for 48 hours after treatment. When prior entry is necessary, wear all protective clothing, including a respirator. Clothing must be washed after each day’s use. When using the product, wear cotton overalls buttoned to the neck and wrist, elbow‑length PVC gloves, goggles and a half‑piece respirator. Avoid contact with eyes and skin and do not inhale vapour.
Potato ‘No Sprout’ VAPOUR is a flammable liquid and vapour. Keep naked flames away from fumigated storage areas until adequately ventilated. It is dangerous to fish; do not contaminate streams, rivers or waterways with the chemical or used chemical containers.
Store in the closed, original container in a cool, well‑ventilated area and do not store for prolonged periods in direct sunlight. Triple or preferably pressure rinse containers before disposal and dispose of rinsings in a disposal pit specifically marked and set up for this purpose, clear of waterways, desirable vegetation and tree roots. If recycling, replace cap and return clean containers to a recycler or designated collection point. If not recycling, break, crush or puncture and deliver empty packaging to an approved waste management facility or, if not available, bury the empty packaging 500 mm below the surface in a disposal pit specifically marked and set up for this purpose, clear of waterways, desirable vegetation and tree roots, in compliance with relevant Local, State or Territory regulations. Do not burn empty containers or product.
