Profile
First marketed in 1985. It is mainly absorbed through the foliage and moves both upward (acropetally) and downward (basipetally) through the plant’s phloem and xylem, reaching other tissues. The herbicide mimics natural plant hormones (auxins), triggering abnormal growth patterns. This synthetic hormone action leads to uncontrolled cell division and elongation, ultimately causing the weed to die.
Key Features & Benefits
- Selective post-emergent herbicide: Controls broadleaf weeds without harming grasses in pastures, cereals, and turf.
- Systemic action: Moves into roots, crowns, and stems to control perennial and woody weeds.
