- First marketed in 1985
- Absorbed through foliage and roots and translocated both acropetally and basipetally via phloem and xylem
- Accumulates in meristematic regions, providing residual activity
- Inhibits branched-chain amino acid synthesis by blocking acetolactate synthase (ALS)
- Disrupts production of valine, leucine, and isoleucine, halting cell division and plant growth
Toxicity
- Not suitable for use on conifers due to phytotoxicity.
- Herbicide is non-selective when applied to foliage.
- Avoid direct contact with leaves and the young bark of rubber trees, as this may cause damage.
- Acute oral Mammalian Toxicity (LD50, mg/kg) - mice > 2000
